Failing at Being an Influencer
I’m trying to be an influencer. And I am failing miserably.
Not because I don’t believe in what I do, very much.
Not because I don’t show up consistently - it’s a work in progress but has its hiccups.
But because the kind of transformation I live and teach isn’t flashy, quick or easily captured in a viral moment.
How do I “influence” when my work shows up in:
✨ The way my adult children feel safe enough to bring me their real selves.
✨ How I manage my self-talk after I make a mistake.
✨ The fact that I don’t just know what I need to be well - I actually do it. (And so…I’m pretty WELL.)
✨ How I champion others - even those in the same field as me - because there is enough work for everyone, and the right clients always find me.
✨ The way my 28+ year relationship has evolved over and over again because we choose to speak our truths, ask for what we want, disrupt old patterns and manage the ups and downs differently and better over time.
These things don’t fit neatly into a 30-second reel or a catchy tweet. They don’t scream “influencer.” But they scream growth and a life being lived well.
I’m not selling quick fixes. I’m living proof, and so are my clients, that investing in personal and professional development pays off in ways that matter. More calm. More confidence. More alignment. Even when you’re neurospicy with ADHD like me!
And my work isn’t just based on my own growth—it’s rooted in evidence-based, high-impact tools and strategies that actually create change. As a therapist and SEQ expert, I don’t just help people “feel better” for a moment—I help them see the patterns that keep them stuck and get to the root of them.
This is the work that transforms not just individuals, but teams, organizations, and entire cultures. And if sharing my journey encourages you to take the step toward real, lasting growth—then I’ll take that over flashy influencing every single time.
